Lal Mosque Story-First anniversary of Lal Masjid

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

Some sad events are remembered by every nation for whole of their lives. September 11 and 7/7 are prime examples of this in developed world in recent history. But how can one remember such terrifying events if they kept on taking place day after day, month after month and year after year.

It is exactly one year when brute force led by Pervez Musharraf, the bloody army chief ordered to storm the main building of Lal Masjid which was already sealed for last one week. It is hard to estimate the amount of deaths in this sad event but the claim of the principle of school Umme Hassan is terrifying. she said that there were around 2700 girl students present inside the mosque prior to operation but Musharraf just claimed other day that no girl student or women was killed in the operation.According to fact finding mission report of jamate Islami there were more than 4000 girl students killed during operation.

Unfortunately, we are living in a society which is deeply polarized and this polarization is even reached to the depth of our intellectuals and writers as well.In such circumstances,it is very difficult to analyze an event neutrally .As far as the case of Lal Masjid is concerned,it is established now that in this case there was extreme man - handling by both sides.

In fact, the biggest mistake was done by Ghazi brothers .They both failed to visualize the situation and the post 9/11 situation around the world specially against Islam and muslims. Ghazi Abdul Rasheed had done masters in I.R from Quaide azam university but he too failed to understand the basics of any revolution and the result of making state within state.

The students were kept at a distance from whole situation but made to obey their heads and most students were under the age of 15 ,so what can one expect from such innocent students.

The other main participant was Q league under the umbrella of Musharraf and it was fruitless to expect from them to do anything against the wishes of Musharraf .In fact they play their role to getting the situation to worst level.

The need of the day is not to search for the heads of suicide bombers but those who killed innocent children in a mosque.PPP government should make a lagal commission to investigate the whole information and the accused should be brought to justice if this nation is to survive and survive with pride.

PM Yousuf Aziz and CH.Asif zardari

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

There was great enthusiasm in every segment of our society  before the feb,18 elections.Everyone was hopeful  that the coming democratically elected government will  be of the people, but enormous doubts starts to emerge when  Ch.Asif zardari  failed to deliver his promise  made on 9th march 2008,that of restoration of  judiciary.

People were greatly optimistic prior to elections  that we got rid of Shoukat Aziz  and unspeakable Ch.Shujaat hussain but who knows that devilish mind of  Musharraf will  succeed  in his ambitions  again that of  undermining the Parliament  and continuation of his policies .Today,we have  a PM called Yousuf Aziz and  PPP-Q  chairperson  CH.Asif Zardari.PM Yousuf aziz is so  weak and prudish  that he never orders anything  but  hesitantly  announces  his future plans  and even in bureaucracy  his orders are overlooked.

It is understandable why he is so hesitant.  He owes a system loyal to mUsharraf  and his party chief Ch .Asif Zardari  has said several times that  that he will follow  a path of reconciliation  in which no one will be disturbed from his position  no matter how evil he is.It is the result of this policy that  we still have  MQM governor  in sindh and a new loyal drinker   servant   Musharraf Salman taseer. It is the fruit of this dubious reconciliation policy that  MQM enjoys  power in sindh  assembly  and it is undecided in National Assembly .It never  voted  for finance bill nor it  is willing to vote for the ouster of Musharraf.

One wonders  what actually  has changed  after the elections.?Does we demanded the change of faces or change of policies.?Do we the people own this system?.If this was the case,an ordinary man should have wanted  the same PM  Shoukat Aziz and Musharraf addressing  lectures from his house.

PM Yousuf Aziz and CH.Asif Zardari should reset  their priorities again and they should think out of box solutions  and speedy resolutions of disputes among coalition and work for the public cause than for their vested interests.

Height of ambiguity-American role in war in terrorism

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

In her recent article ,U.S former secretary of state Madelene Al bright has said that dictatorial regimes are still present in the world and are flourishing more than ever before and doctrine of sovereignty is getting the status of a sacred idea.the foremost and hard fact is that in today world of mass communication and democracy the dictatorial regimes are there.

Many diplomats and foreign policy experts believed that after the fall of Berlin war, there will be one system of integration in which there will be no usurper.According to my opinion ,the world community should realize the responsibility and exercise necessary actions so that there will be no massacre on the basis of race, regional and religious basis.

All these actions of America according to Madeline Al bright should be for the cause promoter some basic human values in which justice, human rights and progress are at the top of the list.

On one hand,Al bright says that America should play a role of a sacred force of virtue whereas,on the other hand she undermines the sovereignty of any country which refuses to toe the standards of America.

It is typical devilish approach of American diplomats and statesman throughout history. over last 8 years ,because of unnecessary wars and self-made 9-11 has damaged the reputation of U.S badly.

Presidential election in November this year will determine whether A Americans still choose another crook or a President who truly can withstand the challenges of 21st century.

Hussain Huqqani-From Hero to zero

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Pakistan’s new ambassador to America mr.Hussain Huqqani in his recent interview with ‘Kashif Abbasi’of ”ARY ONE WORLD” has said that Pakistan cannot stop the U.S bombings in its area because we don’t have the technology .what an absurd answer.suppose,if we accept this nonsense idea then question arises why not u.s attack or dare to attack Iran?.is Iran powerful country than us?.can Iran target b-52 palns flying at 60,000 km above ground?.

Hussain Huqqani before his designation as ambassador ,teached several years in u.s universities and recently he used to come in intellectual programmes of various urdu channels of Pakistan. His views were quite rational and he had a common Pakistani approach;but God knows what pills he got from Americans that he completely took a u-turn in his views and made himself even bigger supporter of u.s war on terror than our retired cursed general Pervez Musharraf. One can understand the plight of Musharraf ;being a military man and taking power through a coup;but what about Huqqani.a true patriotic , a professor teaching in American universities, and moreover,a civilian, its quite hard to understand the suden drift of mind in Huqqani case.

Mr.Huqqani’s behaviour was also too rude with Pakistani Journalists the other day and also with ‘Kashif Abbasi’ as well. Mr. Huqqani must not get fooled by just sitting in Washington but he should remember the end result of Musharraf and his allied ‘Q’league if he also carried on befooling Pakistanis.

Unprecedented increase in supreme court judges

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

The Parliament has increased the strength of supreme court judges  strength  from 17 to 29 through finance bill. For some it is  astonishing and for others its  dreadfully dangerous.

It is a matter of common concern  that since  supreme court  is the supreme  constitutional  body of this country  and such a large supreme court  is bound to remain divided on all  constitutional issued  and the  the unanimous decision  on any issue  will be next to impossible.

We have always criticized  our judiciary  for giving  dictators  a walk-over  with constitution but one feels deeply shocked  at this increase  and the result this amendment  will bear.

It is a principle all over the world  that  supreme court judges  strength should be kept as low as possible due to the fear of clash   in the process of decision making and even a country like  India has 24 member supreme court. (more…)
