Pervaiz Elahi Biography

Strong Supporter of Gen. Musharraf and his policies, Determined to become next Prime Minister, Now fighting the Battle of survival in political field. He changed the loyalties after 12 October 1999, and became CM of Punjab but Time changes.

Pervaiz Elahi born on Nov 1, 1945. Pervaiz Elahi is the nephew of Ch Zahoor Elahi and cousin of Ch. Shujat Hussain.

Pervaiz Elahi got graduation degree from Forman Christian College in 1967 and he got Diploma in Industrial management from University of London.

Pervaiz Elahi remain chief Minister of Punjab from 2002-07. He is currently serving as opposition leader in national assembly as a result of Feb18, 2008 elections. Pervaiz Elahi became chairman of Gujrat district council in 1983 and he is continuing serving  MPA from 1985-07. Pervaiz got elected as Speaker of Punjab Assembly in 1997.

He has been greatly criticized in media for his support for Musharraf and his anti democracy style of government and comments regarding the uniform issue of Musharraf.

Pervaiz Musharraf was born on Aug1,1943 in Nahr wali Haveli, situated in Kacha Saad Ullah Mohallah, Delhi, British India. Musharraf attended Saint Patrick’s School, Karachi, graduating in 1958, later attending Forman Christian College in Lahore. He also participated in a certificate course for media management from Delhi university. Musharraf is graduate of the Command and Staff College, Quetta, and the National Defence College, Rawalpindi, Musharraf is also a graduate of the Royal College of Defence Studies of the United Kingdom.

Gen. Pervaiz Musharraf came into power on 12 oct, 1999 in a bloodless coup, after dismissing Elected Government of Nawaz Sharif.

In election on oct 10,2002, musharraf’s Kings party got majority and made a government just  by one vote. Zafar Jamali was elected as  a puppet Prime Minister because Musharraf himself was active chief executive.

In Dec,2003 Musharraf made deal with religious parties coalition and thus agreeing to leave military post by the end of 2004. Musharraf later broke that promise which gained severe criticism.

On Dec,14,2003, Musharraf nearly survived in an assasination attmept on his convoy. In another bomb attack on Dec 25,2003 he again survived.

On March 9, 2007 Musharraf suspended Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Choudhary on  charges of corruption and abuse of office. This was begining of his end, and effected his popularity in Pakistan and abroad Badly, his true face was unveiled. Lawyers led a country wide  protest all over the country for months and chief justice was eventually reinstated by supreme court on july 20, 2007.

Musharraf ordered  an operation against Lal-Masjid clerics which resulted in death of one of the clerics and in hundreds of killings of young children of Lal masjid. It was an event that put strong criticism on Musharraf and also proved to the world that he can fight war against terrorism by killing his own countrymen.

On the false claims of rising extremism in country and certain supreme court decisions Musharraf on nov 3, 2007 imposed emergency and issued new PCO and thus barred chief justice from attending Supreme court. Musharraf placed majority of the judges of supreme court under house arrest. It was expected that those judges were going to  disqualify Musharraf from assuming the office of President for next five years. However, new supreme court cleared him.

On Nov 28 2007, Musharraf Retired from chief of army staff position. This is the end of his military life and he is considered to be weak in political field too.

On feb 18, general elections were held and in these elections opposition parties led by Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif got heavy majority over PML-Q Musharraf’s allie party. This was a great set back for Musharraf and his Friends.

He has been criticized over Kashmir Policy, Afghan Policy, war against terrorism and many other issue, but he got support from America and elite class of Pakistan. No matter how loud people of Pakistanis cry GO Musharraf, until he have support from Bush and west, he will remain there and Pakistanis have to bear him.

Imran khan born on Nov 25, 1952. Imran Khan got his early education at Aitchison College, Lahore and the Cathedral school in Lahore. After middle school he left Pakistan to study at the Royal Grammar School in Worcester, U.K. Imran Khan then went on to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics as an Undergraduate at Keble College, Oxford in 1972.

Imran khan played for Pakistan from 1971 to 1992 and lead Pakistani Team to victory stand in 1992 Cricket World Cup. Imran khan is known as the finest all rounder in the history of Cricket.

Imran Khan focused himself for 4 years just for charity work after his successful end to the cricket career. In 1991 Imran khan founded Shoukat Khanum cancer hospital and research center. Imran Khan invested all the prize money he got from world cup victory in first ever cancer hospital in south Asia, which takes no funding from government.

After Success completion of his Hospital Project, Imran planned to Jump into politics for people of the Pakistan. Imran Khan launched his own political party in june 1996 named Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He is the Chairperson of this party and under his leadership; Party is getting huge support from middle class of the society and especially from Students.

On May 16,1995,Imran Khan married Jamima Goldsmith, Daughter of Anglo-French billionaire Sir James Goldsmith. Jamima converted to Islam and they both married at two-minute islamic ceremony conducted in Paris, France. But Khan announced on June 22, 2004, that he and his wife had divorced.

Imran Khan has faced a lot of trouble and many are waiting in his way, but he got courage and determination to face them all and challenge them. He is a real winner and he is determined to win the political cup of Pakistan.

Bilawal born on sep 21, 1988 and is the son of Benazir Bhutto and grandson of zulfikar ali bhutto. Currently studying in the same school as his mother and grand Father, he completed in his early education in Froebels International School in Islamabad and Rashid School For Boys in Dubai.

After the assassination of Benazir bhutto, Bilawal Bhutto appointed chairperson of PPPP by Asif Zardari. Bilawal have to complete his studied before gaining any position in party or become the active chairperson of PPPP.

Voice of Multan, Strong supporter of Nawaz Sharif and joined politics since he was student, never changed the loyalties and always directed politics toward People of Pakistan, loyal to democracy and justice.

Makhdoom Javed Hashmi was born on january 1, 1948. Hashmi is an agriculturalist by profession and got his masters degrees in Philosphy and Political science from Punjab University. He joined politics in 1985 and since than he is constant member of National Assembly. Javed Hashmi served as federal minister of health in Nawaz Sharif second term from 1997 to 1999. After the overthrow of Nawaz government he has been most vocal critic of military Dictatorship of Gen. Musharraf.

Hashmi was arrested on 29 Oct 2003 from parliamentary lodges on charges of inciting mutiny when he read a letter from top military commander to investigate corruption in military and also Musharraf relations with Bush. On april12, 2004 he was sentenced to 23 years in jail for inciting mutiny in the army. Javed Hashmi was released from the Central Jail Kotlakhpat in Lahore on 4 August 2007 after Supreme Court Granted bail.

In 2008 general elections, Javed Hashmi won 3 national assembly seats out of four and he defeated Shaik Rasheed, most vocal supporter of Musharraf and key figure of PML-Q.

Javed hashmi, another PML-N leader, who have paved the way to democracy by not changing loyalties and hitting the core of dictatorship by his strong words and writings.

Daughter of the East, Heart beat of million of Pakistanis, voice of poor peoples and Picture of federation of Pakistan, She give hope to hopeless and promised a bright and changed Pakistan But She Was Short Lived.

Benazir Bhutto was born in June 21, 1953. Benazir Bhutto (1953-2007) was daughter of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and was two times Prime Minister of Pakistan. Benazir completed her O level at age 15. She completed her A level from Karachi Grammar School, after completing her early education in Pakistan, she proceeded to America. From 1969 to 1973 she attended Radcliff College at Harvard University where she obtained Bachelor of Arts degree. The next phase of her life was in England where she studied politics, philosophy and economics at Oxford from 1973 to 1977.

After the judicial murder of Her Father, Benazir joined Politics and returned Pakistan after the Death of Zia-ul-Haq. Benazir Bhutto sworn in as Prime Minister of Pakistan first time in 1988. Her first government was dismissed just after 20 months of its work and was elected again in 1996 but same thing happened when Farooq Leghari dismissed her government on corruption charges.

During Benazir second term as PM of Pakistan, rise of Taliban and the resulting support of Benazir for taliban is a topic that lead her to vast criticism across the World. Her vision was to support taliban to make Afghanistan a country of strategic depth for Pakistan.

Bhutto faced several corruption charges during her second term as Prime Minister and several polish, Spanish, Swiss and French documents fuelled this controversy and for these charges the husband of Benazir has spent 11 years in jail but nothing got proved by any court and he never get convicted.

Bhutto gained enough majority in 2002 elections winning 80 seats in elections but due to her absence in country her members disintegrated from her party and formed forward bloc which later joined hands with Musharraf in a power sharing deal.

On October 18, 2007 Bhutto successfully returned to Pakistan where millions of people were gathered to give a warm welcome to her after her long exile. Unfortunately, the terrorist attacks on her convoy late night spoiled all the happiness and joy, which resulted in more than 150 killings of innocent people and left 450 people injured.

On Nov 3, 2007, Musharraf catering to rising extremism and decisions of Supreme Court imposed emergency on country and thus removed chief justice Iftikhar ch and the top brass of Supreme Court and high courts. Benazir Bhutto criticized this illegal action and vowed to cut off all negotiations with Musharraf and also threatened to boycott elections. Following the decision on Nov 3 she said:

“The extremists need a dictatorship, and dictatorship needs extremists.”

On December 27,while leaving after addressing a huge rally in Liaqat Bagh Rawalpindi, Benazir Bhutto was assassinated by a gunman and detonated himself with explosives, which also resulted in 20 casualties. There was a strong world’s reaction on assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

Daughter of the East leaved the nation and the world in tears. She was intelligent, and visionary Pakistani Leader and got huge support in poor and middle class of Pakistan and in the world as liberal and moderate Pakistani leader. Pakistanis can never forget their Great Leader who lost her life for them.
